Welcome

Thanks for stopping by!

Consider this a handshake, an introduction, a genuine welcome from me to you for all of the best of reasons. You and I have significant things in common…we’re human! And from my experience I have concluded that the best of things in life come from the hand of our Creator.

I absolutely love to engage people regarding the realities of God.

His truth is power. His truth is liberating.

It can gently awaken the slumbering saint, or it can confound an obstinate sinner. Playing a part in the lives of both extremes and all the in-between is such a privilege. Sharing the truth about what needs to be grasped is life-changing for others and for myself.

I know people who don’t believe that people really change.

What about you?

I, for one, know that change—lasting change—is in the offering and available any day of our lives.

We’re not just talking about superficial change.

So, just to be clear, I think superficial change is wonderful, things like a steady rain on parched ground. The soil drinks as much as the rain rescues, or the first significant snowfall that blankets the town in purity and bright white. It restores our enchantment with Winter.

At the beach, watch your little ones scurry as the rhythmic reach of the ocean playfully inches closer and closer to their sandcastles. Their young hands frantically fortify their castle’s wall. Maybe you hum to yourself Dylan’s I Feel a Change Comin’ On...maybe not.

Change...our world is dynamic. The natural cycles God has built into his creation are fascinating to me. We move, we grow, we win, we lose. That is what 1st Cup about.

But what about the human heart, the core of our being, the motivational center? Are we on a trajectory that consistently has been surrendering to our stubborn personality traits and disorders...to the grip of our surroundings? Or is real change, lasting change actually in the offering? Hmmm, that conversation might need more coffee.

The 2nd Cup is for those with more time. More time and more room for discussing stuff about eternity and grace and miracles and who knows…

The 3rd Cup is uncharted but not coincidental. Time has taken conversations where God has led.

Sit and sip with me.

So, these blogs are at least about the retelling of stories of lives changed by God’s grace and truth. It is at least about my opinions about that grace and truth which I believe you should hear—maybe for the first time, or maybe for the third time this week.

I wholeheartedly welcome your comments, brief or expanded.
